The Heritage Foundation of Williamson County (TN) engaged an interdisciplinary team of 3. Fromme Design, HDLA, Belinda Stewart Architects (Prime), and architect Cyril Stewart to lead their in-house team in creating a multi-faceted new cultural destination in downtown Franklin, TN. A series of interactive workshops established the Foundation's core vision and goals; ideal visitor experience; overarching aesthetic identity; desired garden spaces and features; and functional criteria.
Display gardens inspired by historic Middle Tennessee estates will unify the two existing historic Homes, an historic Schoolhouse, and two new event venues into a seamless experience and expression of the past, present, and future on five acres. Key planning and design considerations included providing a high-quality visitor experience; showcasing the art of horticulture year-round; providing on-site revenue opportunities; expressing the site's rich history; and choreographing circulation. Creating compelling communication materials for fund-raising was also an essential task.
3. Fromme Design played a key leadership role with HDLA during the Master Plan and Schematic Design phases. |
