Desert Botanical Garden

The Desert Botanical Garden has begun planting the Ahearn Portal and Hodgson Ethnobotanical Agave Walk. Fromme was lead designer on these important new spaces linking the Garden’s core trail, east campus, and a significant event venue. The Portal celebrates diverse species of native Arizona Agave combined with boulders in artful abstractions of native stone formations. The Agave Walk displays species holding deep connections with indigenous peoples. Surrounding stone forms trincheras, water capturing arrangements from traditional Agave farming.
