Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens announces its upcoming Glowing Gardens: a Holiday Light Show. Tres Fromme worked closely with Executive Director Dana Doody to plan and design a celebratory journey weaving together some of the property’s unique features. The Show runs November through December 29.
Tucker Ranch Holistic Heath, Wellness, Teaching Farm and Family Activity Center
The City of Winter Garden, FL, has broken ground on the 25.6-acre Tucker Ranch Holistic Heath, Wellness, Teaching Farm and Family Activity Center. The 3. Fromme Design-led project’s intent
is to nourish the community’s minds, bodies, and spirits through gardens, programs, and activities. The anticipated opening is Fall of 2026.
Cheekwood Estate and Gardens Lecture
Fromme will present “Ecstatic Beauty: The Enchantment of Country Place Era Estates” at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens on September 19, 2023. These unique places engaged people’s senses and imaginations, transforming daily routines into rich celebrations of life. Fromme will share his personal thoughts on various estates with which he has worked or visited over his career. The presentation will suggest how people might find inspiration for their own gardens.
Louisiana State University’s Burden Museum & Gardens
Fromme led the planning and design of the new Louisiana Lights holiday show at Louisiana State University’s Burden Center. This glowing wonderland establishes a new festive tradition full of radiant beauty celebrating historic Windrush Gardens. Louisiana Lights runs from November 29-December 29.
Harry P Leu Gardens
Harry P Leu Gardens asked 3. Fromme Design to collaborate with an interdepartmental team to transform the mundane pedestrian entry walk into the exuberant Florida Arrival Garden. Planting celebrates the diversity of ornamental species thriving year-round in the central part of the state. The project also includes circulation enhancements.
Weber Basin Water Conservancy District
3. Fromme Design and MGB+A Studio have begun collaborating with the Weber Basin Water Conservancy District (Layton, UT) to completely renovate a significant portion of their demonstration and teaching gardens. Fromme facilitated a two day collaboration with key District staff and the design team to establish goals, ideal visitor experience, learning themes, and an initial spatial framework.
Desert Botanical Garden
The Desert Botanical Garden recently opened the Christensen Family Desert Oasis, a color garden celebrating dryland native and adapted flowering plants. A bridge floating over the Silver Garden welcomes visitors. The space culminates in an urban inspired bosquet shading a dramatic water wall. Tres Fromme was the lead designer.
Desert Botanical Garden
Tres Fromme and the Desert Botanical Garden team began installing the Color Garden, a part of the Christensen Family Desert Oasis. The design finds inspiration in English mixed border plantings but uses desert native and adapted species. The final result will be an exuberant and long blooming composition Fromme describes as “desert romantic.”
Cheekwood Estate and Gardens
Fromme collaborated with Cheekwood staff, HDLA, and Trace on a restoration of the historic Petite Swan Garden, a jewel adjacent to the Mansion loggia. Fromme led the analysis of the original 1920s Bryant Fleming design and creation of a plant list based on archival photos.

Fromme will be sharing lessons he has learned from the design process over almost thirty years. The presentation is part of Cheekwood Estate and Gardens garden school on May 11, 2024.
Kingwood Center Gardens Lecture

Cheekwood Estate and Gardens
Fromme led the design of Cheekwood’s 2024 Orchid show. Columns festooned with exuberant flowers abstract how epiphytic species grow on tree trunks. Mirrored strips suggest bark patterns while multiplying the presence of the floral display.
Desert Botanical Garden
Construction of the Christensen Family Desert Oasis proceeds at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, AZ. This new space is a dryland interpretation of the classic English mixed border combined with the elegance of urban park tree groves. 3. Fromme design led the design in conjunction with the Garden team and HDLA.
Cheekwood Estate and Gardens
3. Fromme Design collaborated with Cheekwood Estate and Gardens on its iconic installation at the 2024 Nashville Antiques and Garden Show. The garden finds its inspiration in the decorative patterns of Herend porcelain and the delights of the Villa Lante.

Autumn gently comes to the Literary Garden at Cheekwood Estate and Gardens. Plantings sweep down a west facing slope and focus on water wise yucca, agave, and perennials hardy in Middle Tennessee. A trellis crowns the hill, provides shade, and acts as a destination to draw people into the garden.
Morton Arboretum Grand Garden
The Morton Arboretum’s Gerard T. Donnelly Grand Garden is flourishing a year after its opening. Tres Fromme was lead designer for this celebration of horticulture set within a framework of water features, plazas, and ornamental metalwork.
Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
3. Fromme Design and HDLA facilitated Jacksonville Arboretum and Botanical Gardens Board and Staff through a highly interactive creative process to start schematic design for the Children’s Garden. This same design team also led the development of the overall master plan for the core part of the property in 2020-2021.

Tulsa Botanic Garden
Tulsa Botanic Garden prepares to open two new major destinations: The Lotus Pool and the Liberty Garden. The former celebrates the emotional associations and horticultural possibilities open water creates in Oklahoma. The latter is a peninsula intended for community events and private rentals. Fromme was lead designer on both projects. Manhattan Construction and JonesPlan built both spaces.
Fernwood Botanical Garden
Fernwood Botanical Garden invited 3. Fromme Design to continue expanding their successful Holiday light show. Fromme designed the show’s first year and developed additional experiences for the second. The current design phase adds new features for years three and four (2023-2024). A recent workshop involved the Fernwood team in evaluating the first two years and envisioning the future.
